Todowing

Todowing is a Chrome extension for the Todoist web app. Todoist flattens sub-tasks in Today, Upcoming, Filter, Label and board views. Todowing nests each task's sub-task tree inline there, up to four levels deep. Every sub-task row shows its own due date, priority and labels, and you can check off or reopen sub-tasks without opening the task.

It also adds seven color palettes, a text-size slider from 85% to 200%, a focus timer with time estimates, and a notes pad for items that aren't tasks. Paid users get 50 Google Fonts and up to five Apple Calendars (read-only) on the Today view.

Pricing: the free tier covers inline nesting, row details, the palettes and the text-size slider, limited to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task. The lifetime unlock costs $19.99 once, with no subscription. It removes the row limit and adds editing, renaming and reordering sub-tasks from the list, a toggle to hide done sub-tasks, filing a task under a parent in another project, and all future upgrades. Refunds are available within 14 days.

Privacy: your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Tasks don't pass through Todowing's servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking. No account is needed.

Todowing works with any Todoist plan, on the Todoist web app in Chrome. It is an unofficial companion and has no affiliation with Doist. Made by Vivian Guillen at Red Pixel.
